FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Warm Wednesday followed by big chill on Friday

Sarasota, FL (WWSB) - Highs will once again be well above average on Wednesday.

The average high for this time of year is 75 degrees, we will top out in the low 80s on Wednesday.

Look for some fog in the morning followed by generally sunny skies and winds out of the SE at 5-10 mph later in the day.  Should be another really nice warm December day.

Cool Change

Temperatures will remain above average through Thursday and then the cold weather will move in on Friday and stick around through early next week.

Thursday we will see clouds increasing along with a slight chance for a few showers in advance of the cold front.  Highs will still be in the upper 70s to near 80 on Thursday.

The cold front will be on the move Friday bringing a real good chance for mainly showers later in the day on Friday and continuing through Saturday morning.

With the increase in cloud cover and rain around on Friday we can expect highs only in the upper 60s to low 70s.  Once the winds switch around to the NW and increase on Saturday we see highs only in the low to mid 60s on Saturday.

Lows on Sunday will be in the 40s and the same is true for Monday morning.
