First Alert Weather: UPDATE - Tropical system getting better organized..likely to form into storm

SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - The disorganized area of thunderstorms over the Bahamas and Cuba continue to move toward S. Florida.

Conditions are still unfavorable for development at this time, but will improve on Monday as it enters into the E. Gulf of Mexico.

It now looks like a tropical depression or storm will develop in the E. Gulf either on Monday or Tuesday.

It now looks like a low pressure center is starting to form.  The NHC has bumped up the chances for this to develop into a tropical cyclone in the next day or so.

Right now it would appear that it would bring us some heavier showers and storms Monday and Tuesday.   That is subject to change until the low actually develops.

Recon aircraft will be flying into the area on Monday if necessary as it enters the E. Gulf of Mexico.

Stay tuned.
