Sarasota FL. (WWSB) - We made it through most of November without any rain and now here it comes, on Thanksgiving and Black Friday of all days.
With a trough of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico and a series of disturbances moving through it we can expect a good deal of cloudiness and rainfall through Friday afternoon.
On top of that a surface low pressure is expected to develop in the base of this trough and move across N. Central Florida on Friday. Right now the forecast models are suggesting that the more concentrated heavy rain will be to our North.
Even if it passes well to our North we will still see intermittent showers and isolated thunderstorms on Thursday and on Friday.
The good news is that the whole system will be out of here just in time for the weekend.
Expect temperatures to be in the mid to upper 70s through Tuesday of next week. Lows will be in the low to mid 60s through Sunday and in the mid 50s by Monday morning.
Rainfall totals will vary from .25" inch to some isolated areas getting over an inch. It does not appear that the storms will be severe at this time, but stay tuned.
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving Day.
