BRADENTON, FL (WWSB) - Police say Brandon Williams, 30, of Bradenton was driving recklessly when he caused a fatal crash involving four vehicles on Thursday.
According to the investigation, it happened around 10:30am Thursday at the intersection of 75th Street Northwest and 9th Avenue Northwest.
A vehicle driven by Alexis Jeanae Booker, 18, of Sarasota was traveling north on 75th Street Northwest and moving into the left turn lane. Police say Williams was heading north driving recklessly when he tried to go around Booker using the southbound lane, passing her on the left, but he hit the Booker's vehicle and his car flipped.
Witnesses tell ABC7 that Williams was driving in speeds of around 100 miles an hour through the neighborhood and weaving in and out of traffic before the crash. Witnesses say his vehicle flipped around six times.
After hitting Booker's vehicle and flipping, police say Williams car then struck a vehicle driven by Petro Chyshkevych, 43, of Bradenton, who was traveling south. Chyshkevych was killed and his 3-year-old daughter was flown to the hospital to be treated for her injuries. Her condition is unknown at this time.
A fourth vehicle driven by Amanda Frances Kleppinger, 33, of Bradenton was struck by debris as the crash happened and the vehicles slid across the roadway.
Williams has been charged with vehicular homicide.
