SARASOTA, Fla. - Wildlife lovers from near and far hit the Suncoast Saturday and Sunday to enjoy artwork and education. The Sarasota Wildlife Art Festival and Symposium is the major benefit event for Save Our Seabirds and the Rotary Club of Sarasota Foundation. More than 50 artists featured wildlife and environment artwork while at the same time a symposium took place to discuss the environment. Volunteer for Save Our Seabirds, Robert Gaglio, said “It's not just about seabirds, but the habitat they live in. The awareness of how important it is to maintain the wildlife that we have to keep the economy that we have, the two go hand in hand.” Save our Seabirds treats approximately 1,000 birds a year before releasing them back into the wild.
