VENICE, FL (WWSB) - The City of Venice is reminding locals and visitors that businesses in the downtown area will remain open, during the on-going beautification project.
Over the next couple of months, crews will be making improvements to Tampa, Venice and Miami Avenues between U.S. 41 Business and Harbor Drive.
Crews are improving the drainage system, adding landscaping and making the area safer for pedestrians.
The first phase started earlier this month.
The Eastbound lanes of West Venice Avenue will be closed now through October.
The entire project is expected to be complete in February of 2019.
City officials are reminding the public that the Venice Farmers Market will continue to be located on Avenue Des Parques near City Hall through the summer.
The hours for that market in the summer are Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
