Despite Pushback From Republicans, Trump Signs Tariff Proclamations

  • 0

Washington D.C. (WWSB) - President Trump signed two proclamations levying tariffs on aluminum and steel.  But shifted previous plans and exempted Canada and Mexico.  The tariffs will take place in 15 days.

There will be a 25% tax on imported steel and 10% on aluminum.  Trump states this is a matter of domestic economic security.  Many of the republicans fear this will set off a trade war.

Thursday night on ABC7 at 7, Alan Cohn will be joined at the trapezoid with Economics Professor from USF Sarasota-Manatee Michael Snipes, long time journalist Steve Sabato and Frank Patti of the Sarasota Republican Party.
