Deputies looking for Port Charlotte thief

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (WWSB) - The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying a women they say stole over $60 in cash and merchandise from a local Wal-mart.

According to deputies, the suspect entered the Kings Highway Wal-mart with a receipt on Dec. 27. She allegedly moved through the store, collecting all the items that were listed on the receipt. That's when authorities say she passed all points of sale and "returned" the merchandise utilizing the receipt.

She obtained $51.66 in cash and exited the store with $10.33 worth of merchandise that was still concealed in her backpack. When confronted, the subject resisted the merchant’s efforts to detain her and fled in an older model white van.

Deputies say the suspect has a crown tattoo on the left side of her neck and a tattoo on her right ankle.
