VENICE, FL (WWSB) - An interesting start to Friday morning as deputies with the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office assisted in trapping an alligator on a Venice roadway.

Just before 6:30 a.m. Sergeant Matt Tuggle and Deputy Colling McCormick of the SCSO came across an alligator on Jacaranda Blouvad, according to a post on the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Facebook Page.

The two men stayed at the scene until a trapper could arrive and apprehend the "instiGATOR."

The large Reptile, estimated at 8' 7" long, was wrangled without incident.
