Deputies: Bradenton man found with drugs and $193,925 in U.S. currency

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, FL (WWSB) - Charlotte County Sheriff's Office arrested a Bradenton man for drugs and seized cash during a traffic stop on Thursday evening. 

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, Robert Flanagan, 33,  was pulled over for a traffic stop and refused to have his car searched. The deputy advised Flanagan of the K9's ability to detect drugs and Flanagan admitted to smoking marijuana a few hours ago.

Deputies say they found $193,925.00 in U.S. currency vacuum sealed in multiple bags in a toolbox. Small pieces of marijuana flakes were in some of the sealed bags. Additionally, deputies say they found 8 grams of cannabis wax dab oil inside the truck.

Flanagan was arrested on the charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Flanagan was also served paperwork to begin seizure of the currency and vehicle under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act.
