OSPREY, Fla. – Saturday and Sunday hundreds gathered in Osprey to celebrate folk music. The two day community event at the Oscar Scherer State Park had exhibits, craft vendors and many food options. But there's no doubt what stole the show was the three stages of constant music. Bands were the stages playing for twelve hours Saturday and continued for seven hours on Sunday.
Both professionals and aspiring musicians were at the event and a 'Jam Tent' was set up for aspiring musicians to receive tips from their favorite artists. A performer and organizer for the event, Jim Gromko, said “It's a great thing for the community because they get exposed to all kinds of music, its not just folk music here. There are a lot of creative musicians here who do a lot of innovative music. So its basically a labor of love. Its all done by volunteers. It's music of the people, by the people and as they say 'for the people'”.
