SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - Donna Betts, wife of Allman Brothers Band founding member Dickey Betts, is back in jail for violating her probation.
According to court documents, on Nov. 26, Betts failed to abstain from the use of alcohol and/or illegal drugs as part of her probation agreement, as evidenced by toxicology data.
That probation is part of a sentencing agreement for an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge from earlier this year. In March, Betts threatened to shoot more than a dozen high school students rowing near her backyard in Osprey.
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, Betts was taken into custody on Dec. 27 and is currently being held without bond at the Sarasota County jail. A court date is set for Jan. 12, 2018.
