MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Manatee County has allowed two developers to alter their plans on previously approved subdivisions in Parrish, increasing the planned homes by about 700 more than originally proposed.
The revised plans indicate a continued upswing in the new home market east of Interstate 75.
In the cases of these Eagle Pointe and Buckhead Trails subdivisions, developers foresee a market for single-family homes. Buckhead Trails, a 203-acre development on the north side of Buckeye Road just east of I-75, will now have 532 single-family homes.
The proposal calls for a recreational trail, two gated entrances off Buckeye Road, preservation of nearly seven acres of wetlands, and 25 feet of right of way for the eventual four-laning of Buckeye Road.
The commission also revised plans for Eagle Pointe to include 1,600 homes on 695 acres south of Buckeye Road and north of Moccasin Wallow Road.
The projects, though approved, have not been designed nor scheduled as of yet.
