PORT CHARLOTTE, FL-Sheriff’s detectives have received more than a dozen cases of vehicle burglaries within the past few weeks in which the vehicles were left unlocked.  In most cases only small items, such as are typically left in vehicles, were taken.

But in all cases, it means that someone had two things taken from them – whatever items that were taken out of their vehicle and the time required to call the Sheriff’s Office to file the report.

Detectives have noted that there is no specific location in Charlotte County as there are reports recently from throughout the county.

And while the detectives will work to try to solve these cases, everyone is urged to take that simple step to avoid being a victim – lock your car.
