ENGLEWOOD, FL-Just as you should take care to not leave valuables in your cars and make sure your cars are locked, the Sheriff’s Office urges residents to safeguard your marine equipment, too.

Deputies and detectives are working several cases reported over this past weekend on Palm/Don Pedro Island in which marine equipment was taken.  Items reported to have been taken include kayaks, paddleboards and expensive fishing equipment.

Residents who live along waterways and canals are urged to make sure you bring in your fishing equipment from outside and lock up or secure other marine related items.  And, of course, if you see anything or anyone suspicious in the area of your residence, especially at odd hours, contact the Sheriff’s Office.
