SARASOTA, Fla. - Florida's Auditor General releasing its findings and recommendations regarding audits on the Manatee County School District. The move puts another wrinkle in the district's efforts to solve their financial woes.

The latest finding released on December the 10th is the second audit from the Auditor general's office in a month that shows financial discrepancies.   The first, audit was on district operations from 2005 to last school year. It came up with a $7.2 million shortfall. The second audit focused on financial and federal entitlements shows a discrepancy of almost $1.9 million, which means the district could have to their general fund reduced by $9.1 million.

District officials have 30 days to answer both audits. They hope to mitigate the amount owed.
