SARASOTA, FL--- The homeless population may soon have an alternative to living on the street. According to a daft of the homeless report put together by Dr. Robert Marbut, 5 new homeless facilities need to constructed in the area. Four of them would serve families and one would cater to what officials call the chronic homeless populations currently living on the street. The daft of the report list a vacant lot that sits at 1330 North Osprey Avenue as the recommended locations for that facility. There are other 9 alternatives for officials to chose from, most of which sit in the North Sarasota area. Coming up on ABC 7 at 6 we examine Dr. Marbut's recommendation to solve the area's homeless problems.
