19 month old girl drowns in bathtub

ELLENTON- Manatee County Sheriff's detectives are investigating an apparent drowning.  The victim is a 19 month old girl.

Deputies responded to the scene around 11:20 Thursday morning at a home on 47th Court East in Ellenton.  Alyssa Jackson was bathing her daughter, Ellery, and her 3 year old brother, when Alyssa left the two to get something from another part of the house.

When Alyssa returned, she discovered Ellery underwater in the bathtub.  Ellery was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

While detectives are investigating, but nothing appears suspicious.
