ENGLEWOOD, Fla. -- Thousands come out for a Labor Day tradition in Englewood Monday: the annual Pioneer Days parade. Organizers say it's a way for the community to come together while creating a boost for business.
It will be a mostly sunny day on the Suncoast with a light breeze out of the south east. Most of the afternoon will be sunny but clouds will build in the second half of the afternoon in inland areas. Late in the afternoon showers and thunderstorms will build and slowly drift toward the coast in a typical summertime pattern. The mid level air is drier today and coverage of thunderstorms should be less than yesterday. That said, some of the storms that do form will be capable of producing heavy rains and frequent lightning. The storms along the coast should linger into the early evening hours.
