MANATEE COUNTY - The controversial development for the Long Bar Pointe area continues to grow opposition.  Many Manatee County residences disapprove of the project saying it will have major environmental impacts and as well as ruin the currently peaceful area.

Medallion Homes is the group behind the project and company officials says residents need not worry.  According to the group their goal is to improve the area and give residents more options to entertain themselves.

But not everyone agrees.  In fact their has been so much backlash about the project that Manatee county commissioners move the public hearing to discuss the issue to the Bradenton Area Convention Center. They say the change was necessary to accommodate what they expect to be a larger audience.

We'll have the full details of the development and what residents are now saying coming up at 6pm.
