SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) -- All Faiths Food Bank is ready to fight hunger this summer.
The organization's fourth annual 'Campaign Against Summer Hunger' kicks off at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at Michael's On East. Breakfast will be provided.
From April 1-May 15, All Faiths is asking residents and local businesses to donate food and money to help their effort to end summer hunger, which they say is the "hungriest time of the year" for 40,000 children in Sarasota and Desoto Counties.
Donations of money will be matched, dollar for dollar, with the goal of feeding every hungry child in our community all summer long. Last summer the 2016 campaign raised $1.3 million and served more than 31,000 children more than 2.2 million meals.
