SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - Sarasota Memorial Health care system is moving ahead with plans to develop a comprehensive cancer program.
Their new facilities will offer a range of cancer care services.
The new program will include prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment, to follow-up care and support.
The Sarasota County Public Hospital Board approved $220 million to begin the cancer program.
The master plan includes building a new cancer inpatient and surgical tower on the main campus
The University Parkway campus will have an outpatient radiation treatment center on its campus.
SMH plans to host several community workshops and neighborhood meetings to discuss the plans with the community
