NEW YORK (AP) — Federal health officials say measles cases are spiking.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 307 cases have been reported since New Year's Day, about half of them in the past month.

That's more illnesses than in any entire year since 1996. Most of the cases are from a huge outbreak in unvaccinated Amish communities in Ohio.
