Kids will be busy spending the summer vacation playing and enjoying time away from the classroom....that means they will be hungry after burning off all of that energy.
Keeping kids hydrated with lots of liquids might seem obvious but our children are eating is every bit as important. Juliana Wright with Alabama's Huntsville Hospital's Wellness Center has some tips for filling them and fueling their play.
1. Have set times for snacks between meals
2. Combine a complex carbohydrate with a lean protein or healthy fat
3. Limit simple carbohydrates like candy, cookies and sodas
