Balloon sinus dilation is a new, minimally-invasive office procedure that reopens the sinus pathways and restores drainage to deliver immediate and long lasting relief to recurrent and persistent sinusitis sufferers. In balloon sinus dilation, the ear, nose and throat specialist seeks to reshape anatomy by inflating small balloons in key places in the sinus to expand sinus pathways and restore drainage.

Balloon sinus dilation can provide lasting sinus relief to qualified patients by

restoring sinus drainage and breaking the sinusitis cycle. A quick procedure and

recovery, the FinESS and XprESS balloon sinus dilation procedures can often be

performed under local anesthesia in the doctor’s office.

The ideal patient who will benefit from balloon sinus dilation suffers from four or more sinusitis infections per year with only limited relief from maximal medical therapy and does not respond to antibiotics or nasal sprays.

There are other considerations that can only be found in an exam.

The procedure is covered by most insurance and is performed at Ear, Nose and Throat Associates of Manatee.
