On your last visit to the doctor did you check to see if they are up to date on their continuing education, received a re-certification or had extra training in their specialty?

If not, you may want to check that your doctor is educated in the procedures they are performing. It is often up to the doctors to participate in extra training.

Many certifications are not a requirement, and doctors may not take the initiative. But, one Suncoast doctor is setting an example for others in the medical profession by successfully completing requirements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and has been re-certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
