A recent study from the University of Pennsylvania finds that women who had bariatric surgery noticed a difference in their reproductive hormones.

Dr. David D. Sarwer, Ph.D., led a study of 106 women who had bariatric surgery, and tested their sexual functioning and sex hormone levels. Obese patients usually report having a decreased sexual contentment.

The average weight loss for women was 33.5 percent of their initial body weight after two years. They also saw an increase of depressive symptoms and quality of life.
