Venice Regional Medical Center is holding a blood drive today to insure that they are covered in case of a shortage.

Summer is when supplies tend to drop and the lessons learned by Charley, Francis and Ivan have prompted many hospitals and centers to be pro-active.

Today's event features Hurricane hostages in scissor lift trucks, armed with water guns and water balloons.

They will be kept up there until their quota of ten donors are brought in
