In addition to Clostridium Difficile, fecal transplants can also be used to treat Ulcerative Colitis. Two and a half years ago I was facing surgery to remove my colon after 12 years of Ulcerative Colitis with frequent flares which became almost completely resistant to treatment.
A few days before my surgery date I discovered fecal transplants had been used to successfully treat Ulcerative Colitis and so I cancelled surgery and gave it a shot. After difficulty finding doctors willing to perform fecal transplants and after learning that it some cases it may take several weeks worth of treatments, I decided to do it myself at home. Two years later I am completely free of any signs of the disease, take no medications and eat and drink anything I want.
