Fall workout tips for you and the family

Summer officially ends this weekend and many of us will be moving our workouts inside for the winter. But there is still plenty of time to get outside and exercise before the snow starts flying.

Fall is a great time to go for a run, or a hike, and enjoy the scenery, and yard-work can be a great way to burn some extra calories, too. Raking leaves or gardening can burn up to 150 calories every 30 minutes. But, repetitive motions, like raking, can make you sore, so warm-up before grabbing the rake, and, as the weather changes, be sure to watch what you’re wearing.

Even autumn-related events like pumpkin picking or corn mazes and haunted trails can turn into a nice little workout for some.
