LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. - It is a story many women know far too well.
A breast cancer diagnosis may come at the same time as other life challenges.
Carla "Cookie" Baldwin, owner of Scrub Club in Lakewood Ranch -- a business that outfits medical professionals -- received her breast cancer diagnosis at a very stressful time.
Her treatments coincided with life changes, and a divorce. But this didn't stop Baldwin from joining a group of women breast cancer survivors that she said made her stronger.
"I'm involved in a Survivors in Sync Dragon Boat team, and it has changed my life," she said. "The woman are just amazing. They're aged all the way from 30, all the way up to our oldest team member is 75."
Baldwin's way of giving back starts October 22nd; for one week, a portion of all Scrub Club sales will be donated to Survivors in Sync breast cancer team.
