MANATEE COUNTY, FL (WWSB)- Manatee County's Florida Department of Health office issued a severe cold weather warning for Manatee County and surrounding areas.
The warning is in effect on Thursday and Friday.
Tom Iovino with Manatee County's Florida Department of Health says the biggest threat of the cold weather is hypothermia and residents should take precaution.
Iovino says the local Florida Department of Health is advising people to stay inside as much as possible.
If you have to work outdoors, layer up instead of wearing one big jacket. You can always take layers off if you get too warm.
Also, drink warm liquids to make sure you keep your body temperature up.
