Dr. Cervera specializes in high risk coronary revascularization, thoracic oncology, video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery, vascular and endovascular surgery and limb salvage procedures.

Dr. Cervera trained at the prestigious Texas Heart Institute where he studied the advanced techniques in cardiothoracic surgery. While on staff at Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Arizona, he developed a comprehensive endovascular aortic program, as well as a successful Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) program. The TAVR procedure is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure conducted without the use of a heart lung machine that repairs the heart valve without removing the old, damaged valve.

In addition, Dr. Cervera is also skilled in atrial fibrillation surgery. Board-certified in general and thoracic surgery, Dr. Cervera earned his medical degree at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, and completed his cardiovascular, vascular surgery and cardiac transplant fellowships at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston. He was Chief General Surgery Resident at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, then performed his cardiothoracic residency at Texas Heart and Baylor
