Who knew that something so pretty could be so dangerous? Right ..lipstick can contain harmful heavy metals like lead and cadmium.

Even tiny amounts of lead can contribute to high blood pressure. Cadmium can damage kidneys. Lead stores itself in the bones and is released a little at a time as bones remodel themselves. This process is increased in women over 50.

Since hypertension contributes to the risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease as well as memory loss, ANY exposure to lead is harmful.

Choose organic lipsticks and ones containing no heavy metal toxins.
