SARASOTA COUNTY, FL. - In the wake of a not guilty verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial, Florida's gun laws are getting national attention.
Some of Florida's gun laws may come as a surprise to residents of states with more restrictive rules. For example, Florida gun laws do not require a state resident to obtain a license for a firearm purchase, nor does it require the firearm to be registered. In addition, with the proper permit, a handgun can be carried in a concealed fashion.
