VENICE, FL - The Federal Aviation Administration said the Venice airport layout needed to be reworked.  Bigger safety zones meant the adjacent golf course needed to be retooled too. For the past six months parts have been redone. Some of that work is now causing problems. Drainage issues causing water to sit where it shouldn't. In some areas it is washing away dirt and causing drainage pipes to ruse from the ground.

Those with the course are concerned it is going to keep them from opening a 9 hole section by November 15th. Airport officials say they are working on fixes and hope it will not force the date to be moved back. We will have their reaction coming up this evening on ABC 7.
