HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- The Watters/Felts Project, a Southeast U.S. jazz-oriented sextet, recently released their self-titled debut CD internationally on March 11, 2014 on Summit Records. They've been making rounds to promote the release and their performance at Huntsville's The Flying Monkey at the Lowe Mill was a great one.
Vocalist Ingrid Marie did not disappoint and Ken Watters was masterful on the brass playing jazz standards and the group's originals. Every other member of the band garnered cheers and applause for their stellar performance as well.
Catering staff from Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe supplied a wonderful spread of Greek food that was included in the $10 cover charge, and if that wasn't enough, Ken Watters' mother was serving up slices of cake to help celebrate the CD release.
The sextet of musicians is comprised of:
* Ingrid Felts (vocals) - Ken Watters (trumpet/flugelhorn)
* Keith Taylor (piano/keyboard) - Abe Becker (acoustic/electric bass)
* Darrell Tibbs (auxiliary percussion) - Marcus Pope (drums)
