NEW YORK, New York (WTXL) —The Walt Disney Company is launching a new global sing-along campaign to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its classic theme park attraction "it's a small world."
"it's a small world" first opened in 1964 at the World's Fair in New York as a tribute to UNICEF and the world's children. The attraction has a home at Disney theme parks around the world including Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida and Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
The new website is building a global sing-along for "it's a small world", with fans submitting videos of themselves singing the song.
Disney leaders say they will also donate $150,000 to UNICEF and donate another $1 for each video and doll posted or shared on the site www.SmallWorld50.com; up to $100,000.
