DALLAS (AP) - A Dallas police lieutenant whose officer husband was killed on duty three years ago is on administrative leave as officials investigate her side job as a rapper.

Lt. Regina Smith performs as Lucille Baller, and in one song threatens to shoot anyone who messes with her.

Smith oversees two police units. Away from the department, she runs a music production company and independent record label named Big Rush In. She started it after the 2009 death of her husband, Dallas Sr. Cpl. Norman Smith, who was nicknamed the "Big Russian."

Smith did not immediately return calls or an email seeking comment Wednesday. A police spokesman also did not return calls.

In a video on her website, Smith says she won't be taken advantage of and practices firing an unloaded gun.
