SARASOTA, FL (WWSB) - According to the centers for disease control and prevention, teenagers grades 9-12 having sex is down to 39.5% from 54% in 1991. The number of teen using drugs like cocaine and heroin is down over 22% since 2007. However, the number of teens who say they've been bullied at school is up 19% since 2009. The number of kids who say they're depressed is up 28.7% in 2007 to 31.5% now.
On Thursday on ABC7 at 7, Alan Cohn will be joined at the trapezoid by PJ Brooks from First Step and Dr. Eddy Regnier, a psychologist in Sarasota.
