MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The water at Palma Sola Causeway will be tested Tuesday after a break in a sewage line led to a "no swim advisory" there.
Officials with Manatee County Public Works say a 5-inch break was found after a beachgoer reported raw sewage bubbling from the beach.
A crew had the line sealed within hours of the call, but it is estimated about 90,000 gallons of sewage spilled into the water.
Tests have shown high bacteria levels and an advisory has been posted.
No word when the causeway, which is located on Manatee Avenue west of 75th Street West, will reopen.
