Myakka Pines in Englewood has 27 holes that are divided into three distinctly different courses, the Red, White and Blue courses.
Together they produce three 18 hole courses for interesting play.
The courses have several lakes and are surrounded by Florida's natural fauna, with no developments of any kind to spoil the view. It is very common to see a variety of birds and different animals during a round of golf.
Hole #7 on the White Course is a dogleg right, 382 yards from the tips, 280 from the front. It’s a difficult hole with water and out of bounds on the left and a bunker in front of water on the right.
Wind conditions are an important consideration on the hole. When you’re playing into the wind, it makes the hole longer; downwind, you have to be careful of the bunker and water on the right.
Tee-times for non-members are obtainable five days in advance starting at 7:30 am. Proper golf attire (shirts with collars; no denim) and soft spikes are required. Call (941) 474-1753.
