Spook-tacular Halloween Tricks ‘N Treats

With Halloween just a week away I thought I’d share some simple and, spooktacular treats that you can make with your little or big boys ‘n ghouls.


What You Need:

  • Apple cored and sliced in ¼ in slices width wise
  • Peanut Butter or Nutella
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Candy corn
  • Food coloring

How to Make Them:

  • Cover the ‘jaw’ i.e. fruit slice with a thin layer of ‘gum glue’ i.e. peanut butter or Nutella
  • Place the ‘teeth’ i.e. mini marshmallows around the edge of the ‘jaw’ (fruit)


  • Place candy corn on upper and lower to look like a vampire!
  • Make an upper ‘jaw with teeth’ and place on top
  • Dye one or several of the teeth using food dye
  • Red for blood
  • Black or blue for rotten

Open your mouth wide and enjoy!


What You Need:

  • 8 oz. can of refrigerated crescent roll, seamless if available
  • Cookie sheet
  • Aluminum foil to fit sheet
  • 4 slices of American or cheddar cheese (Opt)
  • Plastic knife
  • 4 med hot dogs
  • cooking spray
  • Mustard

How to Make Them:

  • Preheat oven to 375
  • Unroll dough on tin foil
  • Use knife to cut 4 even sized squares
  • Place cheese slices on dough before cutting ‘wrapping’ SP from center
  • Place ‘mummy’ i.e. hot dog in center and wrap strip over strip
  • Spray with cooking spray
  • Bake per dough package instructions or until brown: approx. 12-15 minutes
  • Use mustard to make the eyes and mouth


What You need:

  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen raspberries, thawed
  • 2 1/2 cups cranberry juice
  • 4 cup Measuring cup
  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • Small sauce pan
  • twine
  • 2 liters ginger ale
  • 2 liters sparkling apple cider (non-alcoholic)
  • Gummy snakes for garnish

How you make it:

1. Ghoulish Hand:

· Clean the outside of an old rubber glove then turn it inside out

· Mix the raspberries and cranberry juice in a measuring cup

· Pour 2 cups of mix into saucepan and sprinkle the packets of gelatin over it and let absorb for 2 mins

· Warm all over low heat until gelatin dissolves: about 2 mins. DO NOT BOIL!!

· Carefully pour into the glove leaving room to tie with twine at top.


· ADULTS: use a scissor to cut glove away

· Place palm side up against side of large punch ball

· Add ginger ale and sparkling cider (champagne if for adults J

· Add gummy snakes for fun!
