Salsa di Pomodori Proscuitto e Capperi

3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 medium onion

Halved and thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic minced

3 ounces thinly sliced Parma Proscuitto coarsely  chopped 1. 28 ounce can Italian plum tomatoes

4 tbsp fresh basil coarsely chopped

4 TBSP capers

Salt and fresh ground pepper

In large sauce pan add olive oil over medium heat Add onion and sauté until translucent Add garlic and prosciutto Sauté for a minute. Lower heat Add tomatoes and basil  simmer uncovered 15 minutes Stir is capers  salt and pepper Add 2 Tbsp pasta water if needed
