Chef Judi: Foodie Find Friday

Sometimes new products jump out at me and sometimes after trying they don’t make the cut. Recently though, I have been on a good roll tasting and finding those foodie finds that make life a little easier. My picks this eating trip are:

Porcini Ravioli and fresh mushroom sauce ready to take home at Peperonata Pasta (Chili’s shopping plaza and downtown farmer’s market). In a hurry, try a grilled steak, sliced on top of fettuccini and a dollop of sour cream. Think of this dish as a deconstructed Beef Stroganoff.

Quinn brand popcorn; Vermont Maple and sea salt to be exact, sold at The Fresh Market. Be careful though, this one is addictive with the salty sweet component

Also on my radar are the chocolate covered bananas in the ice cream section of Fresh Market. Try a smear of cashew butter in top!

For convenience, Piccolos in Gulf Gate has ricotta stuffed eggplant. Ah, just think if you warm it in the microwave and buy one of their beautiful antipasto salads, dinner is ready to dine pool side without the mess. Honestly, I could not make the eggplant any better myself!

Lick my Spoon has a sweet tooth in mind for this find. CocoNana sauce is a crazy sugar rush banana-coconut spread. I tried it with fresh sliced pineapple, a little spoonful of Greek Yogurt and a slice of pineapple coconut bread. Wow, after dusting the dish with shredded coconut, I could have sold the dessert for $12.00 at a fine dining restaurant!
