Brownies with Truvia Natural Sweetener

Moist and chewy brownies with the rich chocolate goodness you love. This decadent treat boasts 20% fewer calories and 70% less sugar* than the full-sugar version. Go ahead, have two and enjoy every bite!


  • 3 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1⁄4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1⁄4 cup canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 31⁄2 Tbsp Truvía®natural sweetener spoonable
  • 1⁄4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp skim milk
  • 3⁄4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1⁄2 tsp baking powder

Optional Garnish: Make powdered Truvía® natural sweetener by blending 2 Tbsp + 1 tsp Truvía®natural sweetener spoonable** and 1 Tbsp of corn starch in a blender on high for 1 minute. Lightly sprinkle this powdered garnish on brownies using a tea strainer. Store leftover garnish in a sealed container.

Assemble all ingredients.

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Place baking chocolate, butter and canola oil in a large microwaveable bowl. Heat for 30 seconds; stir. Repeat and stir to melt the chocolate.

Whisk together the eggs, Truvía® natural sweetener, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk in a separate small bowl.

Add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture and stir until well combined.

Sift together the flour and baking powder.

Fold flour mixture into the chocolate mixture using a rubber scraper, until just combined. Do not over mix.

Pour batter into an 8x8-inch square pan.

Bake for 22-25 minutes. Do not over bake.

Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack for at least 20 minutes.

Cut into 16 squares.

  • 6 tablespoons stick butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Equal Spoonful*
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: Chopped Walnuts

* May substitute 24 packets Equal sweetener


Beat butter, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla until blended. Stir in combined flour, Equal, chocolate chips, cocoa, baking powder, nuts (optional) and salt until blended.

Spread batter in sprayed 8-inch square baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350F oven 18 to 20 minutes or until top springs back when gently touched. Cool completely on wire rack. Cut into squares.

Store in airtight containers at room temperature.
