I believe I first found a recipe like this is an original Gourmet Magazine when I was in middle school.
To my waistlines, as I recall a super decadent version that I insisted my Mom try instead of plastic wrapped artificial single slices of glow in the dark cheese.
- Large skillet
- Shredded Parmesan cheese
- Shredded Gruyere cheese
- 1 load sliced brioche bread
- Hellman’s mayonnaise
- Hand sliced Havarti cheese
- Diced apples (optional)
Melt butter in pan. Line a slice of bread with slice cheese. Spread on raspberry jam or fig spread and diced apples Spread mayo on outer slices and dip into a plate that has shredded and grated Parmesan cheese. Place Parm cheese side down into melted buttered pan. Grill until golden brown and flip once.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place grilled cheese sandwiches on cookie sheet and toast in oven for 5 minutes to crispy bread.
It's very rich so try cutting into 4 wedges. Enjoy!
