Chef Sam's Pumpkin French Toast

Serves 2-5 People


1 loaf of bread

1 ¼ cups Pumpkin pie filling

¾ cup whipped cream cheese

2 cups (or about 8) eggs cracked and whipped

¼ cup cream

1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (optional)

1 tsp vanilla (optional)

2 oz butter

¼ cup powdered sugar

Ingredients for cream cheese:

½ cup cream cheese at room temp

1 tsp vanilla extract

½ tbl cream

1 tbl powdered sugar


For cream cheese: Add soften cheese and vanilla to mixer and whip for about 3 to 4 minutes. Add cream and powdered sugar and allow to mix for about 3 more minutes.

For French toast: Cut about 5 thick sliced from a loaf of bread. Cut a slit in the bread almost all the way through to allow for filling. Add ¼ cup pumpkin pie filling and 2 tbl whipped cream cheese. In a bowl, combine whipped eggs, cream, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice (if desired). Heat butter in skillet and dip stuffed French toast in egg mixture. Cook in skillet until the first side is golden brown and flip. Finish second side and serve with powdered sugar and syrup of your choice.
