Chef Ray's Squid Ink Black Chocolate Cake

Sugar 2c

Flour 1 1/4c

Cocoa Powder 3/4c

Black Cocoa Powder 2tble

Baking Soda 2tsp

Baking Powder 1tsp

Eggs 2

Buttermilk 1c

Hot Coffee 1c

Vegetable Oil 1/2c

Vanilla Extract 2tsp

Squid Ink 1tsp


Pre-heat oven to 350. Sift flour and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl and add the rest of the dry ingredients then mix well. Add eggs 1 at a time, scraping the sides of the bowl to ensure a smooth batter. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract until completely mixed. Pour mixture into prepared baking pans and bake at 350 for approximately 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack and remove from pans.
