Edible Sarasota's Fall Issue Review

  • 1

The fall issue of Edible Sarasota was a delectable introduction to autumn in Southwest Florida.

I drooled over the descriptions of Courto’s Katas (homemade caramels, brittles and toffees) in the magazine’s always-fun Small Bites section.

The Edible Events calendar made me want to jump into the pumpkin patch at Hunsader Farms for the annual festival.

I also learned about the Australian red claw crayfish that are being bred at North Port’s West Coast Aqua Farms. What a heartwarming story about the owners! I can’t wait to make a trip to South Sarasota County to try the crayfish and meet the amazing people behind the operation.

How about Chianti chef Al Massa’s pan-roasted local American red snapper with Gulf shrimp and fire-roasted corn-radish agrodolce? Yum.

And the sustainable slant at the Waterfront Restaurant on Anna Maria Island—simply inspiring!

I read the mag from cover to cover, but I’m going to have to set it aside now. I have a lot of recipes to attempt and gorgeous fall weather to enjoy!
